Be Prepared – Get the Most Out of Your Heliskiing or Boarding Experience

Being in good physical shape is key to enjoying your heliskiing or boarding adventure to the fullest. The fitter you are, the more energy you’ll have to make the most of your day in the mountains.

We highly recommend spending a few days on the ski hill beforehand to get your legs back under you.

If this is your first time heliskiing or you're unsure of your ability level, please take a moment to review our Am I Good Enough? page

What to Bring

RK Heliski - equipment

To ensure you're fully prepared and comfortable during your heliskiing or boarding experience, please review the following gear recommendations:

  • Ski/Snowboard Boots: Bring your own boots, as a proper fit is essential.
  • Skis/Snowboard: You're welcome to bring your own equipment, but skis and snowboards are included in your package.
  • Ski Poles: We recommend using our big basket ski poles.

Clothing & Accessories:

  • Layered Clothing: Dress for sub-zero temperatures with a proper layering system. It's better to be warm and shed layers if needed.
  • Helmet or Hat: Essential for warmth and safety at high altitudes.
  • Goggles: A must-have in snowy or low-visibility conditions.
  • Gloves: Insulated, waterproof ski gloves are critical.
  • Sunglasses & Sunscreen: On sunny days, UV exposure at 3000+ meters (10,000 ft) is intense. Protect your skin and eyes.

Other Essentials:

  • Backpacks: Personal backpacks are not permitted. We will provide guest packs with your essentials for the day. If you have your own avalanche airbag, you are more than welcome to bring that.
