rk heliski offers wide open alpine slopes, scenic glaciers and gladed forests for our heli-ski/boarding tours. Some of the best skiing in the world is only another 10-15 minute helicopter flight from rk's Heli-plex into the heart of the Purcell mountains where the air is fresh, the powder is deep and the experience exhilarating.

Our proximity to Panorama Mountain Resort means will never have a day where you cannot ski. On the few days we are unable to access the backcountry due to bad weather and you happen to be booked to heliski on one of those days, you will not find yourself stranded in the lodge. The opportunity exists for you to ski at Panorama Mountain Resort, which is within walking distance from the rk's HeliPlex lodge.

Where We Are

rk heliski is located within walking distance to all accommodations at Panorama Mountain Resort where a variety of options exist; hotels, condo hotels, townhomes, pension, privately owned homes, and chalets. This year-round resort community has something for everyone to enjoy. It is a small intimate village that folks return to again and again. Base facilities include the village gondola, restaurant and retail outlets, Panorama Springs Pools, and the Greywolf Nordic Centre with over 20 km of groomed trails.

Team - Our People Make The Difference!

Our friendly experienced reservation, customer service agents and guides in their bright suits will reassure you with their knowledge and answer all your heli ski/board related questions. We want you to have fun and enjoy your heli experience.

All guides at rk are certified as Full Mountain Guides, Ski Guides or Assistant Ski Guides as required by HeliCat Canada and are members of the Association of Mountain Guides (ACMG) or UIAGM. As part of their professional qualifications, are required to have advanced first aid training; Level 1 (assistant guides) or Level 11 (all other guides), Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) forecasting courses and annual training in order to maintain their membership with ACMG. Some guides also have training in diverse and related fields such as explosive control.

Heliplex

Built in 1987, the handsome log and granite heli-plex overlooks Panorama Mountain Village and home of Choppers Landing, a fireside lounge and 180 seat family restaurant (smoke free & wheelchair accessible). Try some delicious wines, or great beer on tap. Or warm your insides with schnapps or a hot drink!

For those days when you wish to rest your legs in a warm cozy and relaxed environment, come to the heli-plex and enjoy our unique fireside rocking chairs. Or enjoy a delicious meal at Choppers Landing Restaurant and Lounge from its extensive menu. We have a great sound system, and plenty of heli-literature to give you a taste for the real thing.

We don't just keep the fun indoors either - on the deck of the heli-plex is a tepee with a warm and cozy fire. A great place to meet friends.

Choppers Landing Restaurant & Lounge If you're looking for something light to fill the gap, or something hearty to keep you going, stop by Chopper's Landing at Bavin Heliplex, mid-day for fresh salads, hot soups, delicious sandwiches and more! At Chopper's Landing you can enjoy the spectacular winter views from our licensed outdoor patio & deck.
